Reports that refresh in the background

Keeping reports current should not depend on remembering to press a refresh button. This retrospective covers the daily store-import workflow introduced before this edition date.

Daily imports for connected stores

The scheduled workflow queues recent App Store and Google Play reporting for configured companies and processes the work in the background. This gives the workspace a regular opportunity to pick up reports as the stores make them available.

An existing active import is taken into account before another run is queued. The workflow also records whether an import was queued, skipped or failed, so a background action has an observable result.

Progress remains visible

Manual imports and background refreshes belong to the same reporting workflow. Use the import status and latest available report dates to understand what is ready to analyze.

A scheduled run does not mean every provider report exists yet. Stores publish on their own schedules, and missing dates may need a later refresh.

Using this workflow

Keep your store connections configured and check import status if the visible data seems stale. Compare the report dates as well as the import time: they describe different parts of the data’s freshness.
