Getting discovered and gaining a subscriber are different steps. The acquisition view helps make the earlier steps visible without turning them into a single unexplained number.

Store funnels with distinct meanings
App Store acquisition brings together impressions, product-page views, downloads and paying-user figures where reports provide them. Google Play shows store-listing visitors and acquisitions. Each store keeps its own labels so the two reporting models remain understandable.
Conversion figures provide context for the available numerator and denominator. They are useful for comparison within the relevant reporting view, but the stores’ differently defined measures should not be assumed to represent identical behavior.
Break down the audience
The acquisition table groups available observations by app, country and source. This makes it possible to investigate whether a change comes from one audience segment or appears across several parts of the business.
Using this view
Open Statistics → Marketing, apply the relevant filters and inspect acquisition alongside subscriber movement. Check report coverage before drawing conclusions about a small segment. Missing observations do not establish that nobody visited or downloaded the app.
This is a retrospective of the acquisition reporting available by the edition date.
